For the past six years, River Region Human Services has been organizing Project MALE (Men Advocating and Leading by Example) conferences that have helped hundreds of men in the Jacksonville area to become more effective fathers to their children.
River Region and the Jacksonville Children’s Commission Network for Strengthening Families teamed up to present this year’s conference on June 9th at the Household of Faith on the Westside.
Speakers included Ken Jefferson of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and Rev. Rudolph Porter of the Mayor’s Faith and Community-Based Partnership Office. Topics for the workshops included Step-parenting, Effective Discipline, Education, and many other important subjects. Over 100 men participated.
Kenneth Arnold, River Region’s Senior Director of Intervention Services said, “The annual Project MALE conference is an event where men can acquire the tools they need to do a good job at parenting and have some fun at the same time.”
River Region has been serving Northeast Florida since 1972.
