About River Region
River Region Human Services, Inc. (RRHS). was established in 1972 as a private, non-profit 501-(c)-3 corporation, to provide an comprehensive array of substance abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment services for persons residing in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. John's Counties. RRHS has been licensed by the Department of Children and Family Services since incorporation, is registered with the Secretary of State and the City of Jacksonville as a charitable organization.
River Region Human Services provides services beginning pre-conception and continuing throughout childhood, adolescence, and adult hood, including specialized services for the elderly. For mothers in need, that have just delivered their babies, we provide safe housing where they receive counseling and services to help them successfully transition back into the community. We provide extensive prevention services for youth, including trained counselors within the Duval County School system, camps, and peer support services. Counseling services for at-risk adolescents are provided at community schools as well as River Region locations. HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, counseling and referral services are provided throughout the community. Substance Abuse, Mental Health and Co-Ocurring Services include outpatient, residential, day/night, medication, case management and continuing care services. Other services include supportive and transitional housing, an employee assistance program, corrections and court service programs, parenting and anger management classes and DUI offender programs.
River Region has worked to make a difference in the lives of tens of thousands of children, adults, and families for over 40 years. One of the keys to our success is our continual adjustment to NE Florida's community needs. We also work collaboratively within the community to optimize care for persons served. River Region has had seven CARF accredited programs since 1993. Each re-accreditation period, we have been given the highest level of accreditation achievable.
We strive to be the "best of the best" and have an exemplary training program that is accessible to other community providers. The agency also has a thriving Continuous Quality Improvement program that has been commended by the nationally recognized Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, STAR-SI, and NIATx programs. In 1998, RRHS was recognized at the federal level for developing a program that became a national AIDS Outreach model. RRHS also received the Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association’s Best Practices Award in 2004. Most notably, in 2008, Ryan White clients in the city rated RRHS at the top in cultural competency, ease in using services, and effectiveness. Furthermore, River Region has talented and longstanding experience represented in its leadership and staff who continue to serve our community with distinction.

Our goal is to maintain an ethical, responsive and professional attitude in all levels of care and create an environment of understanding, choice, compassion and hope.
All persons seeking services will be received in a welcoming and respectful manner regardless of presenting needs, symptoms or illness. Celebrate Our Success, Support Our Future
River Region Human Services, Inc. has offered critical services to the Northeast Florida community for more than 40 years. For all of those years our mission has been to promote a healthy life-style that contributes to the development of a productive individual and wholesome community. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of families and individuals from infancy to their elderly years. Many of River Region's programs are nationally recognized and used as models for organizations that want to implement similar programs in their area.
We are proud of the services we provide and the difference our programs have made in tens of thousands of lives. We have done this by relying on grants and contracts from federal, state, and local government agencies. The reality is that funding from these sources is decreasing; yet the need for our services are steadily growing. We are asking for your support of the important services that River Region provides to the Jacksonville community.
