Substance Abuse Treatment
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
Methadone and similar drugs are given under the direction of medical professionals to help alleviate the withdrawal symptoms associated with addiction to opiates (pain killers). Find out more here.
Residential Treatment provides inpatient substance abuse treatment in a home-like setting. Clients are stabilized until they can be transitioned to a less intensive level of care. These services are funded in part by the City of Jacksonville Public Service Grant.
Mental Health Treatment
Adult Psychosocial Rehabilitation
Adult Psychosocial Rehabilitation helps those with mental health disabilities learn to cope with or eliminate barriers to independent living with the guidance of a case manager.
Mental Health Drop-In Centers
Drop-In Centers provide peer support through a variety of support groups and refer clients to other programs as needed. Professional staff work primarily with chronic mentally ill clients, helping them with coping skills, independent living skills, depression and support groups, medication compliance and recreational therapy.
Mental Health Outpatient Treatment
Mental Health Outpatient Treatment services serve both men and women with issues related to mental health, substance abuse, and HIV/AIDS. Treatment includes group therapy, psychotherapy, and supportive counseling.
Co-Occurring (Substance Abuse and Mental Health) Treatment
This program provides services for clients who are diagnosed with addiction to drugs or alcohol and mental illness.
Family Education, Assistance and Intervention
Family Intervention Services
River Region works jointly with other community based organizations to assist parents with substance abuse problems. Counselors help remove barriers to treatment with assessments, case management, intervention services and outreach. Services are provided in various locations. Family Intervention Services are funded in part by the Department of Children and Families.
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families funding is provided by the State of Florida Department of Children and Families Services and provides help for families with children through our TANF program. River Region offers FREE services for eligible adults, which include: Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment; Individual and Group Counseling Sessions; and Residential Treatment for Substance Abuse. Anger Management is a 9-week course designed to help individuals develop skills to successfully manage their anger.
Parenting Classes/Support Groups
River Region provides parenting classes and support groups for those in treatment and or in recovery to maintain a healthy, positive relationship with children, significant others, and ex-spouses. Our goal is to help parents transition through these challenging times while maintaining sobriety.
