Working to Prevent HIV/AIDS
River Region’s Outreach Department provides free and confidential HIV testing, pregnancy testing, pre- and post-test counseling, risk/reduction assessments, linkage to services for substance abuse, mental health and other medical treatment, and HIV/AIDS educational classes.
HIV/STD Testing
STD testing (Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and Syphilis) is conducted at designated locations on specified days/times for individuals between the ages of 13 and 24.

Mobile Unit

HEY! – Health Educated Youth
HEY! Program offers sexual risk reduction intervention and motivational enhancement. The program goals are to deepen STI/HIV knowledge, reduce sexual risks, and alcohol and substance use by youth ages 13-24; utilizing evidence-based interventions:
· SHARP (Sexual Health and Adolescent Risk Prevention)
SHARP is single-session, group-based intervention designed to reduce sexual risk behaviors among high-risk adolescents. The program seeks to increase condom use and reduce alcohol-related sexual risk behavior.
o VOICES (Video Opportunities for Innovative Condom Education & Safer Sex)
VOICES/VOCES is a single session video-based, group-level intervention for heterosexual African-Americans and Latino men and women who may visit STI clinics. Culturally-specific videos with HIV/STI information lead to discussions, role plays, and skills targeting young adults ages18-24.

PONS
PONS - Prevention Outreach and Navigation of Services
A program to prevent and reduce the spread of HIV and substance misuse among young adults ages 18-24; utilizing evidence-based prevention interventions:
· PRIME for Life (PFL) – designed for people who might make high-risk choices and helps them learn to reduce their risks of alcohol and drug related problems throughout life.
· RESPECT – an individual-level, client-focused, HIV prevention intervention, consisting of two brief counseling sessions.
