Matrix House Social Distance Graduation

On September 30, 2020, River Region's Matrix House program conducted a "Drive-Thru" graduation ceremony for all of the individuals that completed the program. Clients were welcomed by program staff and given their graduation certificate as well as a bag of special gifts.

RRHS Participates in Celebrate Arlington's 5K Event

On September 26, 2020, River Region sponsored and participated in Arlington 20|20's first ever Celebrate Arlington's 5K run/walk. City officials including Council Member Joyce Morgan and At-Large member Salem were present.

RRHS Participates in Celebrate Arlington's Drive-Thru Picnic

On September 27, 2020, River Region sponsored and participated in Arlington 20|20's first ever Celebrate Arlington's Drive-Thru Picnic. There were performances by local artist, trivia, and food.

RRHS Participates in R.U.T.H.H. Suicide & Mental Health Awareness Walk

On September 26, 2020, River Region participated in the Rebuilding Unity Through Healing Hearts Inc. (R.U.T.H.H.) Mental Health Awareness Walk. RRHS' Constance Baker had an opportunity so speak about RRHS services to participants.

RRHS Holds Its Annual Board Meeting

With social distancing in mind, on September 18, 2020, River Region held its annual board meeting. ut RRHS services at Jacksonville’s premier conference and event venue the Schultz Center.

RRHS Sharpens Skills During Lunch-N-Learn

On June 11, 2020, River Region medical and administration participated in training with Alkermes on the benefits of fighting opioid dependence with non-addictive once-monthly treatment and counseling using Vivitrol (Naltrexone).

RRHS Hosts an Online Symposium

On July 13, 2020, River Region facilitated an online symposium on substance use, mental health, stigma, and disparities in communities of color. The symposium had over 80 people registered. A recording will be made available soon.

RRHS PARTNERS To Provide Free Lunch to Justina Community Youth

On July 8, 2020 River Region, in partnership with the City of Jacksonville and Arlington 20|20, began providing free lunches for youth ages 5-18 and disabled adults. Lunch will be served from 11:30 am - 1:00 at RRHS's Justina Location.

RRHS Re-Accredited By The Commission on

On July 1, 2020, The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) notified RRHS of its re-accreditation. CARF's mission is to provide accreditation standards and surveyors for organizations working in the human-services field worldwide with a base in traditional facilities and institutional settings. Attaining and maintaining CARF-accredited status requires a significat effort, strong teamwork, and a commitment at all levels of an organization to provide quality services and enhancing the lives of the people served. RRHS Staff Partners with Job Corps for Red Ribbon Week

For Red Ribbon Week, RRHS partnered with Job Corps. Staff members Cardesha Burton and Patrina Famurewa were the guest speakers for an event on the Job Corps campus to discuss toxic relationships, employability, and other topics.

In continuing with our community outreach, the RRHS executive team met with JSO Sheriff Mike Williams and his team to discuss RRHS' services to and how we can further expand our service to Duval County.

In continuing with our community outreach, the RRHS communication team participates in Council Member Joyce Morgans Montly Town Hall to share about RRHS services.

CEO Dowdy Speaks before Clay Delegation

On October 10th, CEO Dowdy spoke before the Clay County Delegation on RRHS services. Delegation members included State Representatives Bobby Payne &Travis Cummings, and State Senator Rob Bradley (R-Fleming Island). The delegation hearing is intended to afford local officials an opportunity to request legislation or state funding and express opinions on issues to be considered by the state legislature during the 2019-2020 Regular Session.

RRHS Launches "Beyond" with Clients

In keeping with our vision of being the "provider of choice" RRHS launched our initial "beyond" event at the Carmichael campus offering multiple free services to our clients including wealth management, record expungment, and rights restoration to name a few.

RRHS Hosts Fall Community Event

The prevention team hosted a community fair with free food and games for the local community. Special guest Council Member Joyce Morgan stopped by to participate along with Board Chair Kay Fullwood.

RRHS Participates in Food distribution with other Community Leaders

In the spirit of giving, several RRHS staff participated in Farm Share with Rep. Kim Daniels, Council Member Ju’Coby Pittman and other community leaders last quarter.
